How CoSchedule Works with Instagram
CoSchedule schedules posts to Instagram in two different ways, Push Notification Scheduling and Direct Publishing via Buffer.
1. Direct Publishing via Buffer
Single image posts to an Instagram business profile will be published automatically via connection with Buffer.
2. Push Notification Scheduling
Any posts being shared to an Instagram personal profile, along with any posts that include a video or multiple images will be scheduled through Push Notification Scheduling.
Push Notification Scheduling to Instagram
To begin, create an Instagram post. When the New Social Message window opens, choose your Instagram profile(s) that you would like to schedule messages to. You can create either an Image or Video-type social message.
After you schedule your messages, you will receive a push notification from your phone when the scheduled time is reached.
When your Instagram post reaches the scheduled time, it will show up in the Notifications tab. Click on the post to publish or reschedule.
To manually publish an Instagram message, locate the message and open it. Click Post Now to Instagram then Open in Instagram.
Your selected image will be sent to your phone's image gallery.
In Instagram, create a new post and select your image. It should show up first in your gallery.
Once you have finished editing your photo, click Next. The caption window will open. In the caption window, long-press on your screen until the Paste option shows up. Click Paste to add the Instagram post's text. When you are ready to publish your post to Instagram, click OK then Share.
Republish Failed Sent Messages
Republish any of your sent Instagram messages that may have failed during the process. To do so, go to the calendar view inside of the CoSchedule mobile app. There will be three different statuses that your messages are in. You can only republish Instagram posts that have the status "No Instagram data available." To republish the Instagram post, click on the message and click Go To Message. Click Preview then Push to Instagram.
